Malik Ameer Crumpler is a poet, rapper, music producer & editor that’s released several albums, Glitch Art films & five books of poetry. He was guest-editor of Paris Lit Up issue 4 & 5. He’s co-editor of The Opiate & co-founder of Those That This, Satori Ideas, The Nones & Visceral Brooklyn. Malik has an MFA in Creative Writing from Long Island University, Brooklyn. He curates/ co-hosts Transatlantic Poetry, Poets Live & The Wordists. Crumpler also wrote several musicals, monologues, ballets/ arias commissioned by Harvest Works NYC, Gilles Peterson BBC 6 London U.K., World Wide Radio London U.K., Arat Kilo Festival Jazz sous les pommiers Normandy, France, L’Openbach Ecocentric Festival Paris, Composers Now NYC, Firehouse Space Brooklyn NY, Dixon Place NYC, Liberation Dance Theater NYC, Association of Performing Arts Professionals NYC, Native Tongue Brooklyn Actors Fund Theater, Rush Arts Galleries NYC, Love Yourself Project NYC, Panoply Lab Brooklyn NY, B’AM Paris, B’AM Vancouver, On-Point Brussels, MayWay Records Kortrijk, Black Beacon Sound England & Double Wei Factory, Hong Kong. Lastly, he’s the M.C. for Hip Hop group, Madison Washington on Def Pressé & a nonfiction staff writer for Itchysilk.
